Babysong revisited: communication with babies through song

چکیده

Abstract The Babysong Project arose out of the Baby Room and its aims included supporting baby room practitioners to develop ‘communicative musicality’ (Malloch & Trevarthen 2009), extending research knowledge about practices helping explore opportunities question adapt their own ways working with babies in care. Six years on, we reflect on project consider significance sustainability what might have been achieved. We also probe whether there are further areas for development. conclude that while were many positive outcomes, recognise challenges sustaining nurturing confidence desirability addressing organisational aspects initiative promote embedding practice. There is a real necessity such projects, often involving radical previously held attitudes practices, be funded over longer periods time. acknowledge rich, untapped potential using song connect families carers.
